Where Connection Became a Movement
What began with one entrepreneur searching for community became a vision to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and opportunities across the Caribbean.
The Power of Connection
Suzette Louw, co-founder of OCBN, found herself in a new country as a solopreneur building a business, but without a strong network around her.

Like many entrepreneurs, she was searching for connection. Not just any connection, but meaningful, like-minded people to grow with.

Around that time, she read "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy. Through his teachings, one message stood out: surround yourself with the right people.
And if the community does not exist, create one.
It was not the first time she had heard that idea. But it was the first time a real seed was planted.

She was hoping to find an English-speaking business community in Curaçao. It did not exist.

So she created it.

That was the birth of Curaçao Business Network.
In early 2025 she met co-founder Ryan Davis.

He was exploring a move to the Caribbean and found Suzette through the very network she had built.

That is the power of connection.

One meeting turned into another. Through those conversations, it became clear that there was alignment not only in vision, but also in values and purpose.

What started as one community was about to become something bigger.
Suzette had a bigger dream: to connect entrepreneurs, to connect investors and startups, and to connect the Caribbean.

Ryan shared that dream.

Together, Suzette and Ryan recognized the opportunity to build something with regional impact.
A network designed to create authentic connections, shared opportunities, and long-term growth across borders.

That was the birth of the One Caribbean Business Network Foundation (OCBN).

WHY A FOUNDATION
OCBN was created with intention.

Not simply as a traditional non-profit, but as a foundation built to become self-sustaining.
Our vision is not to take profit out of the communities we serve, but to pour value back into them.

As OCBN grows, the goal is for resources generated through the ecosystem to be reinvested into the business communities we serve, through platform development, training, support, and future investment into the ecosystem itself.
